Are you running 32 or 64 bit windows — my guess is that the W7 driver was from a 32 bit version of Windows which may well work still on W10 – 32 bit –not always though. April 14th, at I knew this was a tricky one and so far no one has figured it out. Several functions may not work. I have read forums that recommend adding a system variable to the path.

Yet it works on one machine but not the other. Check if you have the following folder: I had to restart the scanning software too. Intel Core i7 X Motherboard: It worked and was much simpler than other suggested fixes.
The scanner works fine on my 4-year old Dell XPS running Windows 10 and the exact level of update.

Since installing these updates I’m getting the following error when trying to use the scanner: Acnoscan uninstalled the scanner and then reinstalled, and I also tried the advice you gave Shannon, but the scanner is still not working.
I do not have USB2 on the laptop, but easily disproved that theory by using the scanner on a desktop running the same operating system, with no difficulty under both USB2 and USB3.
