Once you have created the new network queue you may have to select to print and then via one of the menus, force a communication with the printer so that the menus are configured for the job accounting function. In order for the driver to have this setting available to the Mac user, the connection from the Mac to the printer must be direct via IP. Also using the cups interface, I instructed ibfotec printer to use the user code by default. Following your suggestion, I did set up the printer as an IP printer, using consecutively the manufacturers driver, the Gutenprint driver and the generic Postscript driver.
